Make the next clear night count.

ReconStar combines on-device astronomy with optional current weather and aurora conditions. Its astronomy calendar continues to work when a connected service is unavailable.

Reports look offline

On-device Sun, Moon, planet, meteor and eclipse calculations remain available. Connected weather and aurora cards require a network connection and access to the ReconStar service.

Understand feature availability

Notifications are quiet

ReconStar asks for notification permission only after you turn on an alert or reminder. Check the app's alert switches, threshold and quiet hours, followed by the device's notification settings.

Location is unavailable

Choose a city from the offline search or enter a place manually. Current location is optional and uses foreground permission only after you request it. The installed app can also find a postcode or address through Apple or Google platform location services after you tap Find; Android requires foreground location permission for that lookup.

Restore Pro

Open Settings, choose Restore purchases, and use the same Apple App Store or Google Play account that made the purchase. ReconStar does not ask you to create an account.

Free and Pro access

ReconStar Free includes the complete current observing-night report within one selected ten-mile Free Sky Area. The area may be changed once every 90 days. Future dates, away locations, comparisons, trips and automatic server-driven alerts require Pro.

ReconStar Pro Annual

The annual auto-renewing plan is presented as the best-value option. The app always displays the exact localised annual price supplied by the Apple App Store or Google Play before purchase.

ReconStar Pro Monthly

The monthly auto-renewing plan offers the same Pro features for occasional trips and observing events. There is no free trial or introductory offer at launch.

Delete your data

In ReconStar, open Settings > Delete my ReconStar data. The app removes its local preferences, saved places, trips, reminders, alert history and cached reports. If connected features have been used and the service can be reached, it also deletes the pseudonymous installation registration and its related push token, alert settings, delivery records and feedback.

If remote deletion cannot be confirmed, the app tells you and retains the secure pseudonymous credential needed to retry. If you have used remote alerts, do not uninstall until the app confirms remote deletion.
